Ranch Burgers

Mary Lewis of Rolla, MO sent us several recipes to remake after she had seen the Healthy Exchanges column in the Voice of the Diabetic. We are featured in that publication quarterly also.

Serves 6

1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon red pepper
16 ounces extra-lean ground sirloin beef or turkey breast
6 small hamburger buns
2 tablespoons Kraft Fat Free Ranch Dressing
2 tablespoons canned French-fried onions
6 lettuce leaves
6 tomato slices

In a small bowl, combine paprika, thyme, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and red pepper. Add seasoning mixture to meat. Mix well to combine. Using 1/3-cup measuring cup as a guide, form meat mixture in 6 patties. Place patties in a large skillet and cook for 12-15 minutes or until no longer pink in center. For each serving, place 1 patty on hamburger bun, top with 1 teaspoon Ranch dressing, 1 teaspoon French-fried onions, lettuce leaf, and tomato slice.
